The Route

Explore the map below to discover the highlights of the all-American road trip. Travelling from Arizona to Utah with unforgettable experiences taking place at every stop along the way, this promises to be a journey like no other.

Day 1 – Friday 16th October
After touching down in Phoenix, you’ll head direct to Scottsdale and check in to the Camelback Inn where an ice cold beer will be waiting for you. Once you’ve settled in and freshened up, you’ll enjoy your first taste of the American Southwest with a relaxed dinner overlooking the hotel’s mountainous backdrop. While you eat and mingle, cowboy showman Loop Rawlins will harness the spirit of the rodeo, roaming and entertaining with Wild West lassoing tricks.

Day 2 – Saturday 17th October
Here the real US driving tour starts, as you get behind the wheel and depart from Scottsdale in a convoy of Mustangs, Corvettes and Luxury SUVs. Pulling into the Arizona ghost town of Jerome, you’ll stop for lunch before heading on to explore the mountains of Sedona in ATV Razors. After checking in at your new home of Hilton Sedona at Bell Rock, you’ll celebrate the day’s driving with a much-deserved three course dinner at L’Auberge de Sedona.

Day 3 – Sunday 18th October
Next you’ll hit the highway for Monument Valley, taking in the backdrop of your drive recognisable from countless movies and ads. Once arrived and settled in at Goulding’s Lodge, you’ll head back out to experience a Navajo Music Ceremony, a tour of the Monument Valley National Park with Navajo guides, finishing as the sun sets with a cookout under the stars.

Day 4 – Monday 19th October
Our next stop on the American road trip is the immense red and rocky landscape of Moab, Utah. From horseback riding to jet boats, today’s adventure is in your hands as you choose from several optional activities. You’ll check in to luxury camping at Under Canvas Moab for an immersive outdoor experience, sitting down for dinner in the remote desert landscape of your camp before exploring some of the darkest night skies in the US with the help of an astronomer from the University of Utah.

Day 5 – Tuesday 20th October
Today you’ll take a break from driving and enjoy white water rafting, making your way across seven rapids before having lunch on the bank of the river. Spend the afternoon at leisure recuperating from the thrill of the morning, before heading out to sample from a barrel of the region’s famous spirit during a sunset bourbon tasting. You’ll continue the festivities this evening in true Wild West style with a cowboy cook out, live country music and line dancing.

Day 6 – Wednesday 21st October
It’s time to turn out your Mustang, hang up your spurs and bid a fond farewell to the Wild West as you take an early transfer back to Phoenix for your flight back to the UK.
